In October of 2009, I was diagnosed with Moderate Depression- since then I have been on medication to help with it. However, I have found that my mind will racing about many thoughts of things that have hurt me in the past, or my past childhood, past marriages etc. The list goes on. I have been struggling with keeping myself focused on God but always seem to have a wondering mind. I tried to engross myself with God's Word then find that I have wondering thoughts. My last therapy session, I was told that I worry or stress over things too much. LOL I had to agree. One thing inparticular my therapist said what that I need to focus my mind on the positive things, get more involved with family and friends and everytime I start to worry/stress over something I need to ask myself how big or little do I want to make this.
Any advice on how the focus all my attention on God and my relationship with HIm and not have all these negative thoughts running through my head?
Blessings ;D

Hi, hope this will help, we have control over our thoughts, we can decide to think negative or postive thoughts. If we think negative thoughts it could lead to sadness or depression. If we think positive thoughts we will have a more positive outlook on life. Phil. 4:8 instructs us to think on things that or true, honest, just, pure,,lovely, and thing that are of good report. It might help if your mediate on that scripture and when a negative thought enters your mind, refuse to entertain it by not dwelling on it.

I agree meditation is the most effective tool to get rid of stress or depression. Meditating regularly keeps your mind fresh and relaxed. Always use an incense while meditating it will improve your concentration and focus.

I suggest you to do Vipassana. It is a kind of meditation founded by Lord Buddha. It is new to me also and I'm planning to include it in my health and safety training sessions. Keep in touch and share your experiences with us.
